Getting closer Devlog #3

After a couple months of slacking and irl stuff, finally made some progress.

The clients can now draw cards and are getting charged 1 point for each one.

I will need to limit these since there's no point in holding more than 10 cards in your hand + it will make the gui stuff really messy. (Still leaving the option to draw more than 10 in but I will look at it once the game is working to see if it adds anything to the game).


Here's where we are at now:



This week I will be working on making the decks (server side) and if there's enough time left "creature" cards + actions for them. After that we have win conditions, empower mechanics for creature cards and a couple action cards to see how it works.



It is finally starting to look like a game.

As for decks customisation one thing is for sure. Draws will not be randomised. The game is meant to be 100% skill based. So, you get your deck and you choose the order in which you will draw cards. As for who goes first, instead of a coinflip, each player bids to sacrifice x cards to go first. (if there is a draw then they can bid again or choose a coinflip).


Story arc for the first character / decklist is progressing slowly but she is looking good. Her motivation for the game is set and she interacts with the world in an interesting way. :)


Hopefully it will be less than a month before I have made enough progress to warrant one more of these posts.
